I've set up the My Documents folder to reflect a folder
that is stored on a network drive.

The files are now synchronised everytime I switch the
computer on or off. When I try to remove the Make
Available Offline option it is greyed out.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Windows XP automatically makes the 'my documents' folder available
offline when you redirect it to a network share (or at least will not
let you undo it once you manually select 'make available offline').

To fix it you must enable this system policy via gpedit.msc:

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files\Do
not
automatically make redirected folders available offline.

Then run gupdate.exe from the command line. The box should now be
available to 'uncheck'.

Sorry - I meant gpupdate.exe vs. gupdate.exe

Thanks, this solved my problem. However, I was only able to get it to work with gpedit.msc. Good luck
