My Documents Folder

Hello to all,

Can someone explain why Windows XP opens "My Documents" folder when the
system is first booted instead of showing the desk top? Is there a fix?
One other problem I have is the quick launch tool bar disappears whenever I
reboot. I have to check the show quick launch tool bar option every time I
start my computer.
