Hi,
I have recently used the repair tools on the win xp cd, after I could no
longer 'find an entry point' to access my OS, due to a virus.
here is my question...
why is it that the My Documents folder is automatically emptied when one
uses the WIN XP CD to repair the installation? I mean windows give you a file
to keep all of your stuff in. but if you use the repair tool you
automatically lose all your stuff in that file. my other documents, the ones
i saved in other non- 'my documents' folders, is still intact. so if it is
possible to keep some stuff when repairing the os, then why cant you keep
what is in the my docs folder? i guess the work around is to never put stuff
in the my documents folder, that way when repairing the OS you dont lose your
stuff. but what good is that? why cant the repair just leave the stuff in 'my
documents' alone, like it leaves the stuff in non-'my documents' files alone?
I find this quite frustrating... it's like the designers are saying "here is
a special folder for all your stuff, but dont use it or you may lose all your
stuff." ... huh?
can someone please explain it to me?
thanks
brian
