my documents are locked

[help unlocking program]

I can open documents fine, but it gives me the message that this document is
locked. I have tied to click help and activate, but nothing happens. I have
a legit program and my password. I have removed the program from my computer
and re-loaded it thinking some thing else may have happened, but nothing. I
have not used the progrm in a couple years now, but I have to update a resume
and now I cannot. Please help
