My document from office 2000 will not open in 2003??? Help...

Document that contain graphics created in word 2000 will not open in 2003, I
have disabled Norton Antivirus "office plug-in" as recommended in one of the
posts, but this did not help.
 
Word experienced error trying to open file...
1) check file permissions...
2) something about sufficient memory
3)Open file with Text recovery converter

None of these things worked or applied - I was thinking though that the
original file was created with a templete (possibly) and I am wondering if
maybe this is part of problem? If so how do I save this file removing
templete (RTF maybe or something?)
