my ctrl, alt delete menue is messed up

when i press control, alt delete, to fix a program that
isnt working properly, my menue has nothing on it but 3
buttons saying new task, end task and switch to. it has
no "x" at the top or anything, so i can't close it. i
want to knwo ow to get the regular one back. it also only
shows the programs i have clicked on, for instance, if
emssenger was minimized, i couldnt access it through that
menue. how do i fix this?

Try doubleclicking on the window border. It sounds like it's been toggled
into single-tab mode. The doubleclick toggles between the two views.

In windows XP this action brings up the task manager, and

if it does not look right, then just double click inside
of the bare looking one you have come up to change it.
