My computer wont recognise when i put a cd in!

i want to copy some photos to a cd but whenever i put the cd in it keeps
asking me to insert a cd. i've tried, turning the computer off. Strangely, it
will read what's on a full cd but doesnt recognisea blank writeable one. any
suggestions?

Have you tried more than one blank CD?Results the same
Try several disk you may have some bad media. I had about 5 bad disk in the
same stack and none would be recognized.

might seem like a silly question but your drive is a
multifunction one isnt it? i mean you have got a CD-RW
drive?
