my computer was hi-jacked!!

I am still recovering from a screen that displayed someone has accessed my
computer. my nieghbor had her browser hi-jacked yesterday and can not
recover. I was in advanced system information and saw that yesterday my
tel-net service was successfully sent a start control among other services
relating to remote registy, configuration, shared connection etc... how do i
protect myself I have windows firewall, mcaffee firewall plua,antivirus,
spyware. how do I know which programs Im supposed to have running and which
ones someone else has accessed from the computer. The other nieghbor ha s a
laptop with a high tech wireless network card. Am I supposed to have network
settings on my computer if Im not on a network? please help-------stacey
