My Computer icon has disappeared

Right after installing Firefox on a Dell 4600 pc running Windows XP
Home (service pack two), I no longer have the "My Computer" icon on
the desktop. How do I get it back.

Try this:

Right click the Desktop, select Properties>Desktop>Customise Desktop. Then
ensure that 'My Computer' is enabled.
