My Computer - glacially slow to open

It has started taking over a minute to open My Computer. I just see
the hour glass and moving torch icon until eventually the entries
appear.

FWIW I've just upgraded from SP1 to SP2.

What other maintenance tasks do you normally do?
And have you done them lately?

Many. And yes.

Have now reverted to SP1, as that gross problem was one of several
major ones to which I could find no solution.
