"My Computer" access problems

When I try to accees "My Computer" on my laptop it displays the little
flashlight icon representing the computer is finding the information. After
about 30-45 seconds the information finally appears (i.e. C drive, D drive).
My computer has 512MB of memory and 6 GB of free space left. I have
defragged my laptop and conducted a scandisk to check for errors. This is
not a major problem, but it is very irritating. Please help!

Use msconfig to troubleshooting, try to disable startup items
Start - Run - msconfig
 
Hi. Thanks for the response but what exactly am I looking for in the
msconfig. I have used that function before so I am somewhat familiar with
it. Thanks!
