Finding "My Computer"

When I click on "My Computer" I just get the flashlight. It take over five
minutes to find all the drives and other storage devices. Is there a way to
restore the speed by remapping this? By the way, I have 2 gb's of free space
on this 9.5 gb drive. If needed I could merge the drive partitions to gain
more space if this is the problem.

thanks,

Here is what I tried. Now I can get right into "My Computer". I guess I will
have to work around using Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Long delay before files appear in My Computer in Windows XP:

here is how to fix this problem from microsuck support. i tried to
install flash 8 onto my computer and this 'my computer' problem started.
very annoying.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
3. Double-click Component Services.
4. Click Services.
5. In the Services (Local) list, right-click Windows Image Acquisition
(WIA), and then click Stop.
6. If the WIA is set to automatic, WIA will turn on again and make My
Computer load slow, so highlight WIA and go to action and properties.
7. Select disabled from startup type.

this does the trick, at least in my situation.

Thanks
