My code isn't showing in code view

I was messing around with some settings and now the code view isn't working.
 
It's not clear what you're talking about. Do you mean field codes? If so,
try pressing Alt+F9 to toggle between field code/result display.
 
I'm creating a page in Design View but when I click on "Code" at the bottom
of the program,none of what I've put on the page in Design View shows up in
Code View
