I OWN WIN XP/SP1 AND RIGHT NOW IT LOADS TWO OF MY CD/DVD (PLAYER/RECORDER)
WHEN BOOTING, BUT THEY ARE NOT SHOWN IN
WINDOWS EXPLORE. THEY DO SHOW IN THE DEVICE MANAGER WITH A YELLOW ASTERISK.
I REFRESHED THEM EVERYTIME, HAD CHANGE IDE CABLES, CHANGE THE AUTOPLAY ON
AND OFF IN THE BIOS SETTINGS, INVERTED THE IDE PORTS, TROUBLE SHOOT DOESN'T
HELP ANY. CANNOT DO A CHANGE IN MEMORY SETTINGS SINCE WINDOWS XP DOES NOT
LET ME DO EITHER WAY (AUTOPLAY ON/OFF). I'VE BEEN USING THE CD'S FOR A LONG
TIME. WOW! CAN ANYBODY HELP?

HI,
I USED THAT FILE AND FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.
THANK YOU!
DAVID

I seem to remember that there was a virus out there that messed with the IDE
channels. Have you done a full virus scan? Also, temporarily, hook up each
of the cd drives as a slave on your primary channel (with your HD). To see
if you can get them to work.
