Well, in a sense. I was assuming that you were offering help in good faith,
advice stemming from your experience dealing with pc repair and maintenance,
specifically spyware/adaware removal.

My experience from dealing with spyware/adware, for more years than I care
to remember, has proven to me that Adaware does not fix nearly 'everything'.
Anyone who has had to do with many spyware infections SHOULD be able to
verify that. Its not an assumption, or an opinion, its a demonstrable fact.
Anyone who would argue otherwise is either much less experienced, is
satified to offer clients second rate work, or is living in some sort of
mythical 'tech' world where-in little adware/spyware is encountered.

Adaware and Spybot S&D BOTH, are a minimum. CWShredder can also be help,
and LSPfix for those occaisions when the malware hooks winsock. Hijack This
is also a very useful tool, particularly when basic computer function has
been crippled. (not to mention the various malwares that can avoid removel
and even detection by Adaware or Spybot). I use Hijack This quite frequently
as the first cleanup to get things patched up well enough to run the other
cleaners. Of course, if you truly believe that Adaware will fix everything,
its not likely you're comprehension, or ability to interpret Hijack This
logs will offer enough insight to make the program useful.

On the other, do keep using just the one, and I encourage other techs to do
the same. Half-ass technician bring me more regular customers than anything
else.

You are either with us, or against us.

As if anything fixed everything. Where did I hear the comment about
layered security, comparing it to an onion or garlic? Personally I use
three anti-spyware/adware programs, two AVs, and two firewalls.
CWShredder can also be help,
I've heard rumors that CWShredder was no longer going to be updated. Do
you know if that is true or just background noise?
and LSPfix for those occaisions when the malware hooks winsock.
Thanks, I need to add LSPfix to my arsenal.
Hijack This is also a very useful tool,
It took me a little while to figure out how to use it. Merijn's
instructions are slim. I found the tutorial at BleepingComputer.com was
a little more helpful.

It was 'sold' to another company, and to be honest Im not sure I'm
comfortable with the new product.

www.intermute.com basically is using cwshredder as hook to try and sell its
own product now.

It gets easier to use the more you use it.
