My Briefcase won't drag into CD-RW drive(D:) for synchronizing?

I'm trying to use a CD-RW to back up files on my
computer. I have followed the "Windows Help"
instructions to move all files to My Briefcase and then
it tells me to move My briefcase to the CD drive (D:) but
when i do this i get an error stating..."Windows cannot
copy this file or folder..." Am i doing something wrong
here? I thought this was how it worked. Thanks in
advance!

XP's rudimentary CD Recording program does not permit backing up
directly to a CD. You must create a new folder on your hard drive, perform
a backup to that folder, then record the contents of that folder to a CD.
