My backspace key no longer functions. Any suggestions?

The backspace key stopped working - in all programs. Any ideas about what
the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

If it's in all programs, then a broken keyboard is the first thing I
think of. Try borrowing one from another computer. If that's it, you
can get a new one for $20 or less.
