My Add-In's Tab is missing from the ribbon

Hi There,
I'm working with Microsoft 2007 on Vista and I have no Add-Ins tab!!! I
don't remember ever seeing it there. I've added an application to the word
startup folder and it shows up in the Add-Ins tab of word option. Can anyone
give me some advice as to how to make the tab show up in the ribbon? I can't
find any other people with this problem.

In order to show the Add-Ins tab in Word 2007, your application must include a
custom toolbar (not custom buttons on built-in toolbars) created in Word 2003 or
earlier.

It seems from your response (and other screenshots I see regularly) that the
ad-ins tab should be present regardless, which it it not for me. Your forum
describes how to add toolbars to the ad-ins tab. I do not have an add-ins
tab! Any advice?

Hi Ariel,

The Add-ins tab is contextual (i.e. it only appears when it has something to show). Add-ins can exist that work, but have no user
interface choices visible, or ones that create a ribbon tab of their own (similar to the way an 'outline' tab is added when you
choose the outline view) or even appear as additional buttons within the ribbon.

What add-ins are listed in the Options=>Add-ins dialog.

into the startup

What was the file you needed to copy over?
I'm having the same problem. I cannot see the Add-Ins ribbon in MS Word
2007. What is wierd about my situation is that i can see the Add-Ins ribbon
in MS Excel 2007?

If you read the original response, you will see that you only get the
add-ins tab when you have an add-in installed (that has a toolbar). The file
you need to 'copy over' is therefore the add-in template with the toolbars.

I have installed SnagIt so i should see the Add-Ins ribbon
I'm not sure how I create a template for it (or if I need to in this
instance).
And what's weird is that i can see the Add-Ins Ribbon in MS Excel 2007. So
why would it show in one application and not another

Are you sure you elected to have the SnagIt "toolbar" in Word?

I believe so.
When I look at the Add-ins setup for Word, under Active Application Add-ins
I can see:
SnagIt Add-in
SnagIt Add-in.doc
Should I be looking somewhere else?
