my access 200 table is populating fields with incrementing numbers

If I enter 0 in a field, 1 in the next , Access puts 2 n thenext. How do I
turn this off?
 
You can turn it off by not entering data directly into tables, but using a
form instead.

Unfortunately, that's the only way to turn off that "feature". None of us
can understand why they added it!
