MY A DRIVE keeps on chattering

Most time I select a file in Explorer my A drive chatters as is the computer
was trying to find the selected file on A DRIVE when the file is NOT on a
drive.
Can someone tell me how to stop that

This is sometimes caused by Anti Virus Software. If you are using Norton
visit their website and see if there's any info
on it.
