Music

I have just started using PowerPoint 2002 along with XP. I am trying to make
up slide shows with music playing through the entire show. I have basic
instruction from a friend but am stuck. I believe I did what I should to get
the show to advance automatically and have inserted a song at the first
slide. I put the sound icon back of the top layer as instructed. The song
plays but the slides don't advance till I click, at which time the music
stops.
When I insert a song does it just play for that slide? I know there's a way
to get it to continue because I get shows where the music plays throughout.
Please help. TIA. Stan

David: Thank you ever so much for the url to a wealth of PowerPoint info.
Some of the links there are unbelievably detailed and most helpful.
Unfortunately I am too new at this to understand much of what is available
but I'm sure I will be able to utilize it in time as I become more
proficient in the program. Again, my most sincere thanks. Stan

Stan,

The PowerPoint FAQ is probably the most comprehensive site of answers to
common (and uncommon and flat-out bizarre questions). The specific
article I pointed you to is a bit complex, but it steps you through the
process of making sound play across multiple slides. Try printing it out
and following the instructions. If you have trouble, try to pinpoint
where your problem is (or what you don't understand in the instructions),
and someone here will be able to help you with a specific question.

David: Good suggestion and I will delve into it with zeal in a little while.
It looks like it will take more time than I have right now because I'm
getting ready to visit my children in Cape Cod for a few weeks. I live in
Florida.
I am analyzing the instructions and will definitely tackle the task on my
return. Thanks again for your kind responses. I will post again if I need
nore help. Stan
