Music not playing and error message in preview

Alright, I've looked around some, but figured I would just ask:

I am putting a songs along with slides for my rehearsal dinner this Friday.
Well I added a song and set it to play during the slides, but there's no
sound and when I click preview to just try the song it says:

"The specified file cannot be played on the specified MCI device. The file
may be corrupt, not in the correct format, or no fil"

Well I read something about codecs and it said try playing it in Windows
Media Player, did that, worked great, knew it would. It's an mp3 file,
actually all three of the ones I am using are mp3 but gives me the same
message with every file I tried.

Any ideas? Thanks.

By the way I am using PowerPoint 2007 and using mp3s, I know you can't embed
an mp3 without some theivery but it's not even playing the song when it's
linked, I guess it's linked, don't really know how to check. I have the
presentation and the mp3 files I am using in the same folder and I don't
think it exceeds the length of folder name thingie either (128).

Where did the MP3 come from? I ask as it sounds like it has DRM in the file
and if so you can not use it in PowerPoint.
