Music Editor Crashes - Please Help

L

Lester Stiefel

I use Nero Burning Rom 6.3 and Pyro by Cakewalk for
Editing Sound files.
When the OS is fully configured with the players - Nero DVD
for vob, and oddball files (dvd mpg); RealPlayer for mp3 &
RA/RV; WMP for Windows files and I'm running MMJB for the
mp3 albums (no default) the music editor quits loading when
I open the Compiler window (and hangs). Further the Editor
and MMJB is removed now (at least temporarily). If I try to
remove the Nero Burn software, I'll lose the CD/DVD drives
from explorer.

Other Software installed: Wordperfect Office 2000;
Calendar creator 9; Lotus Organizer 2; Verse Search 5;
Firefox (browser) ; Thunderbird (mail); MediaFace 4;
Ultimate Labelmaker 2; PerfectDisk; WinCatalog; Partition
Magic; Belarc; Norton Sysworks/PFW; Bulk Rename Utility;
Powerchute Plus; Adaware 6; Getright ; HomeSite Trial; ACE
Mega Codecs Pack (Panasonic & Sony DV; Newtek HDTV, AVI
Tagger/Defreezer; TweakUI) and VideoLAN Player (bin/cue).

System is homemade and running WindowsXPpro SP2 on an AMD
athlon xp @ 1.4ghz on a 133mhz fsb, with 768mb RAM. The
pagefiles are Sysdrive=1152+ mb; Audio 256-1024 mb; Video=
256-1024mb; docs & pics = 64-256mb; installers = 256-512mb.

Can someone tell me if a piece of software would do this.
Is there a work around?
I really need to be able to use pyro or a similar program.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the very well-detailed post. Did you check on the software
mftrs.'s websites for patches to fix incompatibility issues with SP2?
Nero has one. My patched version is 6.3.1.17. If you already patched
Nero, maybe some of your other software needs patches, too.
