Mup.sys - looping boot-up

My PC is stuck in an infinate boot cycle. When attempting
to run in safe mode it is clear that the PC is hanging on
the Mup.sys file. I have seen various individual's
remedies and experiences on various sites.

What is the fix for this?

A little background. Just over the past few days My CR-RW
has sporadically worked. It seems that Windows is not
recognizing it? Are these related?

Watcha!

While I am unsure of the actual cause of the failure to boot, if I were you
I would take out some of your PCI cards i.e. Sound, RAID, USB card, WinTV
etc - just leave the basic in. If the machine then boots up try putting
each card in one at a time and see what happens.
