Multiuser file/registry problems

I have recently installed a new application on a number of
networked machines using the administrator account.
Unfortunatly I find that other users can not start up the
sotware or gain access to vital files requiring RW access.
Although I have altered the permissions I think will fix
the problem I am still finding the same problem with ever
more software. Do you have an general advice that could
help me? Or do I need to be application specific?

I think you'll need to talk to the software manufacturer(s) on this one.
They may have stupidly written their software such that users require
administrator rights - and they may also have a workaround.
