multiuser conflicts

Stephen

I am having some errors with a database we are using in a
multiuser environment. Have you ever heard of data being
entered on the wrong record? In other words, is it
possible to have a form show a specific record number,
allowing a user to change data to that record, but Access
actually post the change to a different record in the
underlying table?

I have a full description to the problem in a post dated
11/2.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Stephen,

Here is a post from Access MVP Van Dinh (from Feb. 2002) which appears to
address your situation:

:I am not sure but I vaguely remember there was an Access bug that even made
it to the daily newspapers (IIRC, about early 2000) which write edited data
onto the wrong Record in some *rare* circumstances. The example I remember
was a doctor's surgery where patient's diagnosis or medication being entered
for one patient could be saved erroneously to another patient's record
(which sounded like your problem).

All I can recommend is that you make sure ALL users' PCs have the latest
Update / Service Release installed for the Access version used.

Can anyone recall this bug?
