Multiple Wireless Access Points

I live in a condo. I use a wireless router with my laptop
that has WEP enabled. My neighbor also has a wireless
router but does not have WEP enable. When I turn on my
laptop it sometimes will connect to his router instead of
mine. Sometimes it will not allow me not connect to mine
or it does not even show up in the list. Is there a way
to force it to connect to only my router? I have my
router at the top of the list in "preferred networks". I
have also tried to disable "Use Windows to configure my
wireless network settings" but that did not work either.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
In the properties of your wireless connection, click
adavanced and deselect "Automatically connect to non-
preferred networks"

What kind of personal data is on the "neighbor's pc"? Show him/her
how you can access their network and ultimately their PC - I bet the
first thing they do is go figure out how to secure their PC/network -
explain to him/her he/she is PC broadcasting to the world anything
he/she has on his/her PC. One mine, I've enable 128-bit WEP and
configured the MAC addresses of the Wireless cards into the Router
(although they can be spoofed), but if the MAC address and WEP key
don't match, no go on connection. Also, my wireless card setup has an
option to allow/disallow wireless network names - I've told it to only
attach/view access points found in my home wireless network name
(although that can be spoofed too) - but if you put enough barriers
(although spoofable), it greatly deters the common hacker/teen - it
becomes too much like work - for those that are left, the 128-bit WEP
key.

I have had similiar issues in different areas
Windows XPsp2 fixes this.....
you should make sure you don't break something else,
perform an audit on your PC, then read the info on proper install procedures.
I hope this helps. (Since I don't know your neighbor)
