Multiple Users Sign In Page doesn't work

I can't get thet opening screen where it sort of looks like an ATM and
each user's name is boxed with a little graphic. Instead I just get an
old fashioned small sign in box in the middle of my screen and I have
to type in a new user's name and password.

When I go to the new user function in control panel I see an
apporpriate optiuon for new users -- but it isn't
highlighted. It's sort of faded.

How can I get that nifty multiuser
welcome window to work?

Hi,

Are you on a domain?
Are you using offine folders?

If the answer to either question is "yes", then you cannot use the Welcome
screen.

One other thing to check: Start/run "control userpasswords2", on the
advanced tab see if the option to force a CAD logon (secure logon) is
enabled.

Not sure what you mean by being on a doain? On a network? No. Just
sitting at home with a laptop, although I do have wireless DSL that is
always on.

What are offline folders. I thought all my folders were off line,
unless I have a network or web space something.

I switched the tab to requiring control alt delete -- nothing changed,
exception now I also have to do the control at delete.

?

Hi,

You are likely not on a domain. For offline folders, check the corresponding
tab in folder options (in the control panel).
