I'm running Windows XP with 4 user profiles.
How do I get Outlook to open the same folders for each
user?
Thanks for your help, pete

Modify each profile so that the "Personal Folders" service points at the
same PST for all profiles. You'll have to place the PST in a subfolder of
Shared Documents.

I am clikking: file / folder / move personal folder- and the option is
greyed out. I also chech preferences for the personal folder and under
advanced, it shows the path that I need to change, but it won't let me. How
do I get access to change it?

First, with Outlook not running, move the PST containing the majority of
messages you wish to keep from its location in the specific user's profile
to a folder in Shared Documents (not copy, move). Now, start Outlook for
that user. Outlook will complain that it can't find the PST and display a
browse window. Browse to the new location of the PST and select it. Click
Open. Now you're done for the first user.

For each subsequent user, rename their PST from whateveritis.PST to
somethingelse.PST and start Outlook. When Outlook complains and displays
the browse window, browse to the shared PST, select it and click Open. Now
everyong is using the same PST. Avoid using Switch User with Outlook
running on anyone's Windows account, since only one copy of Outlook should
open the PST at any one time.

If any of the users whose PSTs you renamed have items they'd either like
moved into the shared PST or have items they'd like to see, but keep
separate from the shared PST, they can click File>Open>Personal Folders File
(or Outlook Data File, depending on version), browse to the renamed PST,
sleect it, and click Open. They can then either move the items to the
shared PST, or just leave them where they are so that they have not only
shared items, but private items as well.
