multiple .pst folders

I'm using Outlook 2003, running Windows XP Pro. For some
reason I have three Personal Folders files going -- and
all of them get new incoming messages and reflect current
sent messages. I have heard that is because my .pst
folder is corrupt - does anyone know how to fix? Thanks!

Nope, your profile is corrupt.

Create a new profile (do not copy it);
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

To access your current pst-file in the new profile;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below
