Multiple photos

When I download a photo from camera, scanner or web site, It is downloaded
into several locations.
Desktop,My documents,my albums,My pictures.
C: My computer,documents and settings,Chuck Moss's Documents,My albums,Chuck
Moss's Pictures.
C: My documents,my albums, my pictures
C: Chuck Moss.Chuck,My Documents, My albums, My Pictures

I do not share this computer with anyone and it is taking up a lot of my
hard drive, therefore I do not need all of these duplicate files, Which is
the best way to correct this problem ?
Thanks

When you download a picture, it is stored in only one folder, the folder you
select after clicking on Save or Copy. However you are able to access this
folder in different ways (the different ways you described) but there is
only one file stored on your computer.
For example, if you select "My Pictures" (the XP default) this folder is
under C:\My Computer\My Documents\My Pictures. But you can see the picture
listed when you click on your desktop and properties and desktop. This
simply mean that the picture is accessible from there. Same if you have
software creating albums, the picture will be listed there, etc. but there
will be only one file stored on your computer and it will be in the folder
you selected to store it in.
