Multiple Network Adapters

A have a database server with W2k advanced server and 1
network adapter. (Configured with tcpip and 1 ip adres.)
Performance monitor shows 90% - 100% network utilization.

Can i place a 2 network adapter also with a static ip
adres?
How Can i set up network load balancing?
 
this isn't a good idea in most cases, more isn't faster in all cases. The
db server may cause the network bottleencks.
 
When i have a db server with,
SQL server 2000 with 140 databases, 100 Gb data.
The most users conncet with a terminal server.
Jou stil think a second network adapter isn't a good idea?
