Actually, it depends more on your video card's drivers.
If the drivers let you specify a separate desktop for each
monitor rather than a single desktop spanning all of them, then
you can use the usual method of right-clicking on the desktop to
get to the Properties and select the background colour and wallpaper.

If you are stuck with one desktop spanning both monitors, just
use an image-editting tool to make one big image that spans both
monitors such that it gives the illusion of being two separate
images, one on each monitor.
