Outlook 2007 on Vista Business. No exchange server.
First start: I imported my previous outlook 2003 pst files with the
file/import menu. For a couple of days all worked well, then one morning at
the opening of Outlook I found there was no account set. OL started with the
configure email accounts wizard. All lost.
I deleted the default profile via Email management in the control panel,
created a new profile from there, then imported all my previous pst files
again.
All good for some days then today I found all the mails in the trash folder
received before the 10th august were lost. I imported them again (only trash
folder)from my backup files. Now I found that the indicization service
cannot find no mail at all. From every folder.
Someone had similar problems? That's horrible!

Never use the export\import to get your pst files back into Outlook. It creates corruption as you have found out. Copy the pst files into Outlook where they belong

....with one slight correction. You cannot and should not try to copy your
data file into Outlook's default location because there is a good chance you
will overwrite another Outlook data file. Instead copy it to any other
location on your hard drive, then open it in Outlook.
