Multiple level bulleted text

Believe it or not, I don't know how to type and I need help.

I know I can use the tab key to switch from level 1 to level 2 to level 3
etc. while I type. But I am not sure how to switch from level 5 to another
level 1 bullet. I don't want to click decrease indent four times. Is there
a better way please?

One PPT teacher suggests that one should type out all levels as level 1 and
then select the bullets and click increase indent to change to the desired
level. I prefer the levels to happen while I type rather than rereading and
deciding on the levels. Any comments or suggestions for a better/easier way?
Let's focus on typing by assuming that we have already had some handwritten
draft and ignoring the fact that everyone gathers thoughts differently.

Thanks in advance.
