multiple layouts in a powerpoint presentation

I am new to powerpoint and have been tasked with creating a
presentation for a non-profit group I am involved with. I would like
to use a number of different slide layouts in the presentation and do
not know how to do this. Is it possible. I am using the XP version
of Powerpoint. The goal is to have one layout for the title slide and
then a couple of different layouts for the two different topics of the
presentation.

Any help would be appreciated.
