I have an XP Pro on a network that is connected to a
Linksys switch. The switch is connected to a Netopia
router that goes out to the Internet. When I view the
Netopia that shows the IP's being served by DHCP, I see
the XP Pro PC using up 3 IP's. Additionally, I have
another IP configured statically and placed on the same
XP Pro PC-- so I have altogether 4 IP's associated with
this PC. The IP's in question are public, ie.
63.242.xxx.xxx. There are 12 public IP's, one assigned
statically to the XP Pro and the rest are in a DHCP =
pool.
