Multiple IPs from same subnet on one NIC

Sort of. What is the point really? What are you trying to do? Let us know so
we can help you. This won't accomplish any load balancing or anything

Not at all.

It is perfectly acceptable to have more than 1 IP from the same subnet on
one physical (or logical) interface.

Common applications for this technique are for homing websites to a
particular IP, because it needs its own SSL cert. If you need more than 1
SSL cert on a server for various websites, you have no other choice than to
put additonal IP addresses on the interface.

Thats what I wanted to hear :) In our case we had an old Linux DNS
and a new Windows 2000 DNS. I removed the linux box and gave the
windows dns server its old ip as additional ip-address. This MS
article unsettled me a bit.
