hi,
i connect to the internet over a lan and adsl. I also
connect to a work network using a DUN. When this is
connected the internet connection is inactivated. I have
set the DUN to never connect, but this doesn't sort it.
If i use the network wizard I get "microsoft does not
recommend what i am trying to do because more than 1
comouter can connect to the internet".Any suggestions
gratefully received
thanks graham

First, check with the administrator of the work network to see if what
you want to do is allowed. Some companies don't allow users to
connect to the company network and to the Internet simultaneously.
That can be a security risk, because the Internet connection is
outside the company firewall and could let Internet hackers get into
the company network.

If it's OK, the solution is to remove the "default gateway"
specification from the dial-up connection for the company network:

1. Right click the dial-up connection.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click Networking.
4. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".
5. Click Properties.
6. Click Advanced.
7. Un-check "Use default gateway on remote network".

If the company network consists of more than one subnet, you'll have
to define static routes to access it. In that case, consult with the
network administrator.
