Multiple Instances of Excel

I am getting annoyed by not being able to have multiple instances of
Excel (being able to view two Excel workbooks at the same time. I have
dual monitors and right now I'm stuck on one screen with this other
beautiful screen going to waste. Anyone know of a way to allow me to
have multiple workbooks open and on different screens? I've had this
happen before, but I have no idea how I did it, it just happens every
now and again as a fluke. I'm in XP using Excel 2000.

Thanks!

I don't know about the dual monitor situationm but you can have multiple
copies of Excel running. Simply open Excel, then open it again.

As far as the fluke goes, I've noticed that sometimes when a file is opened,
it automatically opens a new instance of Excel. I've not bothered to analyze
what affects this.

As someone else pointed out, you could open multiple instances of Excel.

OR, you can hit the double square icon at the upper right corner of the
screen so the Excel window's size can be adjusted, drag the right side
out onto your second screen, and then open another file, and drag it
into position where you want it (You'll have to hit the double-square
icon on the individual file windows, too, to size and position them
properly).

Works for me.

Hope this helps.
