Why do I have two icon buttons for every user on the start up page. Does
anyone have any suggestions. I can't seem do get rid of the second icon. I
have deleted the user account and added it again but it still adds two icons.
Help

I only remember reading about this issue, I don't have a fp reader.

My link has a link to a download which should fix the problem, but you need
to contact your PC maker to see if they have an updated version of the
Omnipass software.

Thanks. It's nice to finally get a response and know that I am not the only
one that has this issue.

Dave, I noticed your tip regarding the multiple icons and wondered if you
might have a similar solution to a similar problem. We occasionally have
multiple icons for the same application in the Windows Vista icon tray. The
main offender is HP monitor, which monitors for media on replaceable drives.
We have searched all our Vista start menus to be sure that there is not a
startup item both for a user and as a public startup item (Windows> Users
AND Windows> Program Data). There don't appear to be duplicate startup
items and we do not use a fingerprint reader. Have you ever heard of this
issue?

No, I haven't heard of this issue.

But Googling it found some cases of it in XP.
That "fix" seemed to be unlocking the Taskbar, and restarting the computer.

Thanks, Dave, that is certainly worth a try! We appreciate the help.
