Am having a unique (at least to me) problem w/XP Home:
Trying to set up a Seagate 120GB HDD in an existing home-
made Athlon XP computer. Used norton ghost to copy the
files from the Maxtor 60GB to the Seagate. With the
master/slave jumper set and only the Seagater installed,
won't boot. When I add the Maxtor as a slave (verified in
BIOS), it boots to the Maxtor. Ideas any-one? Really got
me baffled.

You need to edit boot.ini. The drive setup boot order/partition order
is not correct.

Are you sure you have the jumper set right? Some drive manufacturers use a
different configuration for master if only one drive or more than one.

I know it is late, but did you just try setting up the larger drive with a
clean install. With Windows these days, you may not be able to just copy
the OS to a new hard drive. I suppose things like active partitions and
such might also be involved.

After installing new HD as C, set the old HD as D and then boot from XP CD
and carry out a Repair Installation. Boot sequence will be reset and drivers
needed for new HD loaded. Programs and data will be retained. Once you can
boot up XP you can then delete the old HD contents.
