Multiple GC's

Hello

We are curently looking into making some changes in our test environment
related to Domain Controller roles. We have an application that requires
multiple Global Catalog servers (DC's), the applicationis ORacle based and
using OID for security tie ins to Active Directory.
Our test environment has two Domain Controllers (DC's) and one is the Global
Catalog server. Are there any concerns for planning that I should consider
before making the 2nd DC a Global Catalog server?
I am referencing the following; http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=313994
Any opinions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

The only concern would be additional replication traffic. In a multidomain
environment the GC replicates a partial replica of all domain partitions so
when you add another GC to the picture you are adding more traffic to your
network. If you have one domain then it isn't a big deal.

Yes, we are running only one domain, but would adding a third dc to the
network improve performance? The third of course not being a gc.

I am obviously not that familiar with the inner workings of AD, but what
exactly does the gc replicate?

Is there a specific reason for adding a third DC? It won't improve network
performance but it will ad redundancy. DC's replicate AD and sysvol
contents so they generate traffic. It wont be a lot of traffic. I suggest
that you read the branch office deployment guide and the AD operations
guide. Those documents wil provide you with a better understanding.

Here are few linbks that will tell you about a GC and what it replicates
