On C:/Windows, there are 25 file folders listed in blue text. What does the
blue mean? Should I delete these? For example, first listed is
$NtUninstallB823182$ (folders: spuninst). These are listed elsewhere in
black text as text document , opens with notepad. I have Windows XP Pro, MSN
9.

The blue folders/files are either compressed or encrypted. You can turn this
behavior off by going to Control Panel>Folder Options, click on the "View"
tab and uncheck the box "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color."
You should not delete these files as many of them are used if you want to
uninstall windows service packs, patches and updates. You can delete these
folders, but I would not if I were you unless you are running out of disk
space.

Hi Aunt Mac,

Both encrypted and compressed files can be displayed with alternate colors
in My Computer. Encrypted files are green, and compressed files are blue.
