Multiple Domains on the same subnet

Gary Lowe

I have a general question regarding installing multiple
Windows (NT & 2000) domains on the same TCP/IP subnet?
Because of browsing (master browser) and DNS type issues,
I feel that you should not put two separate devices
connected to seperate domains on the same TCP/IP
(10.12.1.xxx) segment. Is there any known restrictions to
configuring the systems in this way? Could you please
direct me to any documentation on this subject?

Thanks,
Gary

I think you're right - best to separate the networks on different
hubs/switches. You're going to have loads of DNS and DHCP problems.
