I hope somebody can help me. I am running low on space on
my hard drive. While searching for possible files to
remove I saw multiple versions of some .dll files. For
Instance shell32.dll. There was the original version, one
from SP1 and another from SP2. My question Can I safely
remove the older versions without killing my laptop.
If so do I go by the version number:
6.0.2800.1106
6.0.2800.1233 etc
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks

You really ought to leave that stuff alone. Deleting .dll files isn't
going to free up that much space any way. Uninstall programs you don't
use. Back up data stored in My Documents (for instance) onto cd-r and
then delete from the hard drive. Disable hibernation. Delete temporary
and Temporary Internet Files. Buy a second hard drive. Post back with
details about your system if you want more help.
