Multiple copies of scheduled scans?

I have AntiSpyware schedule to run every morning at 6am. But for some
reason, every morning I see two windows showing the results of scans. They
both start and stop at approximately the same time, but not exactly. When I
check the AntiSpyware application, the Last Scan entry says "You have not run
a scan yet!" This happens most every day, with the exceptions taking place
in the first day or so after I reboot my system.

Any ideas what this is and how I can fix it?

Thanks.

Is there more than one user on this machine, with fast user switching
enabled? Is one of the users a limited user?

I've seen this myself, and suspect that it relates to both factors listed
above--multiple users and one of them a limited user. However, I also
believe that I've seen it in the absence of those factors.

If it isn't too annoying, I'd bear with it until we see beta2, which is
expected within the next two months.

Thanks Bill. There is only one user set up on the machine. I can't
recall ever setting up fast user switching.

Fast use switching would be on by default, I believe, but you'd need
multiple users to have actually made use of it : )

If you open Microsoft Antispyware, do you get the setup wizard?

I don't have any good ideas about what to do about the multiple scan results
(well, maybe--re-schedule to an altered time, and see whether that fixes
it?)

However, the lack of recording of the scans should be fixable. Is the user
an administrator?

I don't get the setup wizard, I get the AS console. The user is an
administrator.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I was thinking that your issue might match one that we've been fixing by
deleting a particular file--\program files\microsoft
antispyware\gcUserData.gcd

However, most users with trouble with that file get the initial install
wizard on every startup.

You could try renaming or deleting that file, or you could try an update
reinstall:

Start, control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change,
update.
