Multiple copies of same file

I can create a file and save it, then do a search for that file name in
windows explorer and it will return the saved file showing it in multiple
locations....how can I turn this off or stop it>>>>>>

Are you sure the results are actually showing multiple copies of the file or references to the file in places such as Recent Documents, Most Recent Documents in the program you saved the program in, and so on?

Are you sure it's the same file? It could be different files with the same
name, such as "TEST.TXT".

You can use the command line command "COMP {file1} {file2} to compare two of
the files. If the command returns "No differences found" well, it IS the
same file.

What's the name of the file (or is it all files)?

In what folder are you saving it?

In what other folders does the search report it?
