Multiple Contacts Folders: can I sync them so I can go back to use

I got the bright idea of making 2 more Contacts folders so that I could be
better organized. I decided not to use the old Contacts folder and instead
was putting changes in the two news one, which would be used for different
purposes. The reason I came up with this is so that I could get around using
categories (temporarily) because a lot of them disappeared for some unknown
reason. Any, now the problem is that in order for me to set up Contacts to
be tracked in the Journal, I have to use the Contacts folder I initially
had (the default folder), and Windows Mobile (for my Motorola Q) uses only
the default folder for its sync...so now I want to copy all the Contacts from
the two new folders BACK to the original Contacts folder so I can use just
that one. How can that happen without mass duplication issues? And can it
be done by just copying the whole Contacts folder from one to the other, or
do I have do go in and choose each one? Thank you! What a mess.

There are duplicate remover tools readily available. Google can find them.
You can also start at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts_dups.asp .
There's at least one freeware one listed on that page.

You can't copy the folder itself, but you can copy all of the contacts it
contains. Open the source folder and press CTRL-A to select all of the
contents. Click Edit>Copy to Folder and specify the default Contacts folder
as the destination. Do the same with the second folder, then use a tool to
eliminate duplicates.
