I too am experiencing this issue. This is a new Dell Box
running XP v2002 Home Edition sp1, IE
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633. I was able to open
multiple browser windows prior to about two weeks ago. I'm
unsure on what has changed . . . There were MS recommended
"updates" performed.
I've performed the standard checks that seem to be
prevalent in this forum for browser related issues:
Disable the Third Party Browser Extension profile
Run CW shredder
(check for updates) Run Adaware/cleanup
(check for updates) Run SpyBot/cleanup
Run hijackthis/acquire the log file - All to no avail.
Enable the Third Party Browser Extension profile
The only other thing that comes to mind is a pop-up stopper
called StopZilla. This was a 15 day freebie, that has since
been uninstalled via the Add or Remove Programs routine.
The hijackthis log file does not seem to point to any
leftovers from StopZilla. Good luck with your issue . . .
